Re-Reading Tumblr Proposal
I’ve been re-reading it, just out of confusion, anger and some disipointment when this caught my eye
“The question for us has been whether it’s better to (a) prohibit them, as a statement against the very ideas of self-harm that they are advancing, or (b) permit them to stay up, accompanied by a public service warning that directs readers to helplines run by organizations like the National Eating Disorders Association.”
I can’t believe I missed this IMPORTANT piece in thier message. I honestly thought they were just going to flat out take everything away from us, but there may be hope.
If enough people message Tumblr staff they may go with their plan (b), it wouldn’t be a bad thing to have a PSA warning connected to specific tags, as long as they let us keep our thoughts, feelings and/or personal blogs, so we can express ourselves and help others like us.
So please, to anyone who see’s this and is against the proposal, please take a few minutes to e-mail the Tumblr staff at policy@tumblr.com and even just jot-down a little note about how you feel.
